How to find valuable markets for architectural photography

While this provides the usual bullet list of market ideas, the more important essence of the message of this article is that true success may only come if a photographer is as creative about marketing as they are about their images. There is so much competition today that its only by finding a unique market niche or business idea that a photographer can sustain the highest level of business.

I’m slightly embarrassed by this accolate as posting has been far thinner than I’d intended. As it happens this post came just a day after I’d written a new post to be released soon about how to find markets for architectural photograph, so there was a sense of synchronicity.

So a bit thank you to photography-colleges.org and I now have a bit more pressure to add to this blog more regularly.

One of a series of aerial photographs I made of the construction at the Spaceport America site in late October last. The pilot flew brilliantly and enabled me to get a set of perfect elevations of this 10,000 foot, 200 wide monster runway. This is the site where Virgin Galactic plan to launch their tourist flights, possibly in 2011.

If hospital radio conjures up an image of Alan Partridge soundalikes playing their hitlist from the early 1980’s, then think again. This hospital radio station was designed by Studio 4 architecture and exudes coolness, perched on the edge of a vast atrium within Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. I photographed its exterior and interior while shooting an extension to the hospital, also designed by Studio 4

Its not often that an art exhibition gets two private views… however because of the poor weather on the 7th of January, my gallery, Three White Walls has graciously offered to host it again, hopefully more people will be able to come this time.

To celebrate this event and reward those who come, I will be providing a space themed cocktail. Now lets just cross our fingers that the Siberian Weather doesn’t return in the first week of February!
